Hey Soolay Saul Where Are You???

...but I know- I got no one to blame for my own moribund progress than me. And life keeps proceeding a pace at an alarmingly rapid pace. Sooo...

Check out these possible ally types...

So, Brother, there is this book discovered today which relates to I think some of what I want to be calling for:

http://natureandthehumansoul.com/newbook/default.htm

and here's some blurbs about it- come to think of it- that's all available on the site linked to there including a sample chapter. Very related to Thomas Berry's "The Great Work" I think.

It doesn’t get to be much more of an old haunt than this: The Olde Arcade- or is that Ye Olde… I don’t know. And here I sit, typing on a laptop. Session one of maybe two today whilst out on the obligatory walkabout. And what a nostalgic walkabout it’s been- and here’s the route so far and the plan for what to do after I finish this journalizing/work session and make my way to the next stop at the downtown Cleveland Public Libury, or, as we radical activist peacenix like to refer to it: The People’s University. Any way:
1. Parked the car on East 25th and headed downtown on Superior to E.13th where I cut through first the newly redone Reserve Square Market and now Soup and Salad joint. Looked pretty inviting and I almost bought a bottle of Green Jalapeno sauce for a buck.
2. From there I cut up Rockwell to the former Ohio Savings Bank building and through the tunnel under Chester to the other side and passed what should have been me and Pete’s segue (sic) into the Wine and Food Biz aka Cork and Beans, up the stairs and out onto the street- Euclid Ave in this case.
3. Here I half expected to see that homeless guy that’s been a perennial here since just about me getting back to Cleve-A-Burg in the late 80’s. He’s got Nawlins roots of some sort but I don’t remember his name if in fact I ever new it. I ain’t sure.
4. Then it’s down the Ave to a piss here and now the session. When I leave here I plan on:
5. Cutting back across Euclid and through the other two Arcades to Prospect, on down to Tower City, maybe another piss and water stop- actually probably that will be done here, some free food samples at the food court, and back up to Superiour through Public Square and to the aforementioned Libury session.
6. Back to the car will be fairly direct except for I will cut through the Olde Galleria and then on up St. Clair to E.24th, up to Rockwell there and through Chinatown Jake to 25th and the Stratus. Yeah, the Olde Stratus.

Wherefor art thou dower stern Saul???

Saully my Brew... the whole idea here is to start organizing our own thoughts, ideas, and reading into something coherent that we then figure out how to get more people involved in both from our personal peeps and those out there in the public world of politics and the Internet and World Wide Web etc. etc. who might indeed be good allies and collaborators in some sort of venture to, you know, like, make a difference.

For now, this blog is just for us to practice and exercise the possibilities of communicating in this fashion. I will post this now and then look for anything in the blogger Help and such like that might help you get aclimated and started. This is the kind of thing that wouldn't require much time or effort if we'd just start the doing of it.

But again- just playing with it now means that we should at least just communicate with each other about it and anything related to the possibilities of what we try and do with it like we would in email or old fashioned snail mail personal letters about the great gaiea of a world 0ut there that we view of as being in dire need of somehow being fundamentally changed.

Next post I'll have a bit of a list for you as to what you might try doing to get started and involved in this...

Proving it's hard to get communications expanded...

...Even the Soolay Brothers are so caught up in the minutia of living that is a reality for the great bulk of us just muddling through and not of necessity too too concerned with the carryings on of the political elites and their many minions, lackeys, and henchmen.
But I will keep posting in this one as an attempt for it to be the first step in livelying up a bunch of fairly dormant friendships with all kinds of peeps I have known and been tight with over these many many moons and years of rambling and gambling (and yes sometimes it's felt a little more like wimpering and cowering but those have been the exceptions to the general state of my pretty little fictions about myself that keep me feeling happy and safe as I breathe in and breathe out my corporeal stay here on this awesome little speck of a planet we call home... with apologies to Kurt Vonnegut and whoever wrote that chick flick "Sleepless in Seattle" Not that I ever saw it but I've heard quite a bit about it from some frail friends of mine.
So some postable stuff from lately:

Getting the AC Blues again. I understand the lure of it, the very Kevorka of it, even if I do so very truly wish that it weren’t what it is. It’s an escapist hunger for real excitement and adventure fed by simple dances with Lady Luck, with streak theory, with game theory…
I wonder if the Illinois-Joliet-Stan- Empress-Mackinaw and the kids swing will feed the beast. I don’t know. We shall see.

Continuing the communications process...

...so Soolay Saul is on board. Now what.

Well, to begin with it's just the two of us seeing what we start to generate. I'll do my thing and you do yours- and if by chance we start to create something that leads to us getting to that place where we really want to go then tramps like us hey maybe we were born to blog. Here are some basic points that fall under the rubric of what are we trying to do and why:

First a few whys:
  • The basics of mainstream politics, business, corporate media, and the over-riding influence and corruption of all of these by the effect of the Military Industrial and Congressional Incumbency Complex is strangling the potential for legitimate Democratic (on all levels I.E. social, economic, and political) mobilization on the part of and in the best interests of the vast majority of Americans.
  • Many people are out there who would like to see fundamental change in this ongoing and worsening reality are frustrated, isolated, ineffectual, and left to follow the sham of our every four year ritual of choosing and executive branch administration where all potential "serious" choices are pre-screened for us by wealth, the global corporate grid, and those who benefit disproportionately from the current setup of things as if it's just another contrived sporting mega event- albeit with more insipidly false advertising.
  • Any legitimately progressive voice or agenda is by fiat (of the mainstream corporate technocrats at the control panel of our options) and definition already "outside the realm of legitimate debate.

And as for what we are supposed to do about this depressing and deteriorating state of our American Democracy:

  • First off, there are plenty of people out there who are already doing inspired work on numerous effing levels in opposition to the reality of our collective situation. With regards to them we want to identify them and make contact with them and propose to them our fundamental proposals as far as what we ought to be trying to do. These are somewhat clearly articulated at www.dialogdemocracy.org but...
  • Another big thing we got to do is for me, with the help of you Soolay Brew (the new and now most hippest pronunciation of the "Bro or Bruh" colloquialism- trust me on this point) and any one else who joins our effort is to make that dialogD Web Site a full functioning organizing and fundraising Web Presence related to all to all of what, again, we are trying to build this thing into.

There is much more to add to this, obviously. But right now I am just excited to be actually feeling like I am getting into the thought of actually doing something and not just mulling things around or writing with no real reader out there.

So the starting continues...

...and the gears just grind, Jack. I am outside the elementary school where I am Gym teacher for the whole week- which as far as subbing jobs goes is a good gig. It is trying though. They want structure but the lessons are so simplistic that they want you to do as a sub that it's hard to keep the kids into it. Oh well. Subbing has it's share of moments- good, bad, epiphenal, and indifferent. It is another in a fairly long line of "fly on the wall of 'educatation in America'" kinds of jobs I've had intermittantly over the years. T0 whit:
  • Tutor in Santa Cruz where the boy hated me because he was in love with Kathy and the girl innocently enough I have to assume let the monster Great Dane bitch out to attack my ass but good on what of course turned out to be my last day tutoring those two affluent ingrates.
